Ukrainian government has decided to set up English courses for 120 thousand volunteers that will help in organizing Euro 2012.
The aim of those special classes is to help volunteers overcome language barriers. Volunteers have to  speak English, the most popular, international language to talk with foreign football fans from the whole Europe.
Government will also publish special pocket dictionaries. “Those dictionaries will go to policemen, volunteers, stewards, Emergency Medical Services, post office employees and every possible tourist’s attractions in Ukrainian cities” – said Borys Kolesnik√≥w, man in charge of Euro 2012 in Ukraine.
In addition to that Ukrainian government is planning to create a GPS map of the country. The map will be available in 6 languages.
The preparation of the personnel is very important but what about infrastructure? Ukrainian engineers and construction workers are working very hard to make sure that everything is ready for the big event. The biggest problem is accommodation. The government plans to place some of the football fans in the universities, but only 7 out of 800 Ukrainian universities has agreed to host the guests from another countries.
Hopefully everything will go well and Ukrainian volunteers will take care of a good atmosphere during Euro 2012.

Transport in Kyiv during Euro-2012

During EURO 2012 many roads of Kiev City will be blocked and the center of Kiev will become totally pedestrian. For more than a month, Khreshchatyk Street will be completely blocked, and a fan area will be arranged there. Since May 25 to July 1, the fan area will be exclusively for pedestrians. Also, fans who come by busses or car should know that during the days of match such streets as Khreshchatyk, Krasnoarmeyskaya, Fedorova, Barbyusa, as well as Laboratornyi Lane, L. Ukrainka Boulevard, Basseynaya Street, and L. Tolstogo Square will be closed.
During the match, only guests, special equipment and local dwellers will be able to enter that area after showing their passport. Between the matches, this area will be working in the regular mode, except Khreshchatyk Street. During the days of match, it is planned to close some metro stations as well. For instance, “Olimpiyskaya” and “Dvorets Sporta” will be closed for the football day for 24 hours to avoid over-crowding and emergencies. Maybe, the same measures will be applied to “Maydan Nezalezhnosti”, “Khreshchatyk”, and “Teatralnaya”. The whole L. Ukrainka Boulevard will be used as a parking place for busses of UEFA. Also, for organized fan groups, there will be parkings for busses near Klovskyi Descent and Gorkogo Street.
To help fans to get around in the unknown area, there will be 2,5 thousand information-plates with logo of Euro and direction signs indicating the location of the stadium or transport. As it’s been reported, about two thousands of fans will come by car. For them, along Zhitomir Direction, near Berkovetskaya Street, there will be arranged parkings for 500-600 cars. From those parkings, regular busses will be going to Akademgorod Metro Station. No trucks will be allowed into the city during the match days.
And please do not buy such place at the Olimpiyskiy stadium.

Poland is ready

Poland is looking forward to UEFA EURO 2012 with excitement. The Arena Gdansk and the Municipal Stadium Wroclaw are the latest grounds to be inaugurated, with the National Stadium Warsaw to follow before the end of December. Away from the stadiums, visitors will also enjoy the benefits of the extensive work that has gone into improving the country's infrastructure for the finals. In the established Chopin airport, visitors to Warsaw will also be able to fly into the new Modlin airport, which has been built specifically for the tournament. The two airport will be linked by train, with the same railway line also serving Warsaw's official fan zone and the National Stadium.

Now that the Municipal Stadium Wroclaw and the Arena Gdansk are fully operational, both have already hosted major sports and entertainment events.

Wroclaw will be further boosted by a new line connecting the stadium to the city center and fan zone, and work on the city's new airport terminal is also nearing completion. Around the stadium, a new 35 km motorway will ensure that traffic flows freely on match days.

Elsewhere, the new Municipal Stadium Poznan is proving a massive hit more than 800,000 people having visited the ground since its opening on 20 September 2010, while modernisation work has greatly enhanced the terminal building at the city's Poznan - Lawica airport. Similarly, the new terminal building at Gdansk's Lech Walesa airport is functioning well and its capacity will increase from 2.5 to 5 million passengers next year. For Poland's tourist board, UEFA EURO 2012 is an excellent opportunity to promote the country, something they can now do using the tournament logo thanks to an agreement stuck with European football's governing body.

Women's rights group FEMEN about EURO 2012

Members of a Ukrainian women’s rights group Femen went topless on a balcony in the center of Kiev on Tuesday to protest against the bizarre initiative to forbid local residents from appearing on their balconies while wearing underclothing during forthcoming European football championship (June/July 2012).
Kiev city authorities also asked from the national government to ban the use of apartment building balconies for drying laundry or for storage of personal property and make illegal any use of a privately-owned balcony within a half-kilometre of a game site.
