Airport "Kyiv" will be renamed in honor of Igor Sikorsky

At the meeting of the Standing Committee of the Kyiv City Council on Culture, Tourism and Information Policy, the draft decision "On the Appointment of a Utility Enterprise to the International Airport" Kyiv "(Zhulyany) named after Igor Sikorsky" was considered and supported.

After making a decision, the airport will be named KP International Airport "Kyiv" (Zhulyany) named after Igor Sikorsky.

Airport IEV will be renamed to Igor Sikorsky

Kyiv Zhulyany Airport is named after Igor Sikorsky.  Sikorsky has created the world's first helicopter; designed plane "Ilya Muromets" which in the early twentieth century has got the record for carrying capacity. It is Ukrainian engineer's helicopter  has  first to cross the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean. Designed by Sikorsky "Sikorsky Aeroengineering Corporation" helicopters operated in nearly 50 countries around the world.
