Exotic Monkeys Seized at Kiev Borispol Airport

KIEV, June 12 (RIA Novosti) – Customs officials at Kiev’s international airport have seized a total of 15 rare monkeys, Ukraine’s Ministry for Revenue and Duties said on Wednesday.
The ministry said officers found the endangered animals hidden in two suitcases belonging to a Syrian national, who has permanent residence in Ukraine.
The suspect tried to sneak the animals past customs.
The monkeys have been taken to the airport’s storage facility and will be later under the care of local veterinarians.
