Ukraine International Airlines opens Salzburg and Sofia routes from Kiev

Ukraine International Airlines, the flag carrier and the largest airline from Ukraine, extended its European network with the launch of two new seasonal services from its Kiev Boryspil (KBP) base on 28 December. With the longest sector being the 1,333-kilometre service to Salzburg (SZG), and the shortest being the 1,012-kilometre route to Sofia (SOF) in Bulgaria, the carrier will face no direct competition on either of the two new routes. The services to the Bulgarian capital will be served twice-weekly (Mondays and Saturdays) until 15 January, utilising the carrier’s 105-seat 737-500s, while its second destination in Austria will be operated weekly (Saturdays) until 15 March, utilising a mixed fleet of 105-seat 737-500s and 180-seat 737-800s.
