Kherson Agrarian University will grow truffles

Kherson State Agrarian University launches a project to grow black truffles.

Passes the National Industrial Portal with reference to "Agro South".

The Department of Biology and Technology of KSIAU, based on the mushroom laboratory, launches a unique project for the cultivation of expensive mushrooms - black truffles.

 We have a black truffle mycelium that is implanted in the root system of the oak. And we also have an arboretum "Oak Grove". Here we want to do this implantation process in the spring. And in five years we will eat already expensive mushroom, - said the rector of the University Yuri Kirillov.

 The university also launches two other projects - a scientific apiary and a small quail farm, which will examine the impact of feeds on the growth and quality of poultry meat. The creation of such training projects is the need of the university to have its own bases for passing the practice to students.

The University plans to open a course on the training of mussel and oysters cultivators within the framework of the specialty "Aquatic Bioresources and Aquaculture".
