Antonov resumes cooperation with Cuba
Antonov state enterprise resumes service of six regional passenger jets of the Cuban airline Cubana de Aviacion. This is reported by the press service of the state enterprise.
According to the agreement with the leasing company South American Aircraft Leasing S.A. (SAAL), Panama, at the first stage, the company's specialists are already conducting an assessment of the technical condition of all An-158 airplanes of the Cuban air carrier. Upon completion of this work, the second stage will begin to restore the airworthiness of six aircraft.
As a result, they will form a "technical first aid kit" - a warehouse of spare parts that will help in the uninterrupted operation of aircraft. The first two An-158 plan to restore in the first quarter of 2020.
It is noted that the "Antonov" for the first time delivered the An-158 to Cuba in April 2013. The sixth car was handed over to the customer in 2015. The warranty period of the Ukrainian company ended in 2017.
Earlier it was reported that "Antonov" will resume production of three aircraft.
