"Yuzhmash" develops a spaceship
The device is designed for delivery to low-Earth orbits of cargo and astronauts
The state enterprise Design Bureau Yuzhnoye named after Yangel (Dnepr) is developing an orbital space plane to ensure multiple deliveries to low near-earth orbits and the return of various cargoes and cosmonauts from orbits, the Yuzhny press service reports.
It is also noted that the design bureau develops a multi-purpose transport space module for solving the tasks of orbital customer servicing of satellites (orbital inspection, transfer to predetermined orbital positions, maintaining in given orbital positions, reduction to target orbits in case of transfer to off-design orbits).
In Yuzhniy, it also notes that the bureau continues to develop remote sensing satellites for general, detailed and ultra-detailed optical observation: Sich-2-1, Sich-2M and Sat4EO, as well as Mikrosat scientific and technological satellites and CubeSat, GS-1 and Aerosol-UA.
Recall that in April, the Antares launch vehicle with the Cygnus spacecraft, which was developed with the participation of Yuzhnoye Design Office, was launched from the Wallops cosmodrome in Virginia (USA).
