Ukraine has for the first time purchased a tanker batch of bitumen for road construction

Cantarella Ukraine has purchased a tanker batch of 3.5 thousand tons of bitumen produced by the Greek processor Motor Oil Hellas. This is the first delivery of bitumen by sea to the Ukrainian market.
with reference to the CTS.

The country used to import small consignments of goods from Azerbaijan, which were delivered in automobile and railway tanks by ferry.

"We are diversifying supplies due to the limited supply of imported bitumen, large batches of which can now be purchased only in Belarus and Poland," said company director Bekhan Elmurzaev.

At the same time, bitumen from Russia has not entered the country since May 2019 due to the Russian government's ban on exporting the product in this direction.

The Greek product was shipped on a Starpower bitumen tanker (deadweight - 4.9 thousand tons) in the port of St. Theodore on August 3, according to the schedule, the ship delivered the cargo to the port of Ochakov (Mykolaiv region) on August 7.

It is noted that bitumen from Greece is sold in the southern regions of Ukraine, where large-scale road works will be carried out soon.
