Ukraine will purchase another 24 Bayraktar TB2 drones

In 2021-2022, it is planned to purchase four additional Bayraktar TB2 complexes (24 drones) for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

This was stated by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Valery Zaluzhny in an interview with the Eastern European bureau of Report.

Currently, the arsenal of the Air Force and Navy of Ukraine already has two complexes (12 aircraft) of operational and tactical unmanned aerial vehicles of Turkish production Bayraktar TB2.

"One complex was purchased this year by order of the Ministry of Defense. In addition, to meet the needs of the Armed Forces in 2021-2022, it is planned to purchase four more such complexes. In the future, we plan to replenish the arsenal with locally produced unmanned aerial vehicles, "said Valery Zaluzhny.

The Commander-in-Chief noted that the acquisition of Bayraktar is still half the battle.

"Because, firstly, we need to learn to work effectively with them, and secondly, we must know the tactics of how to use them. We must take a comprehensive approach to the issue. The case does not end with the acquisition of Bayraktar. We are currently studying the method of using these devices. If we had the experience of Azerbaijan, it would be much easier. I admit that, unfortunately, we have very little experience, "Valery Zaluzhny stressed.
