Ukrainian lightweight boxer Denys Berynchyk is new WBO champion
On the night of May 18-19 in San Diego (USA), Ukrainian lightweight boxer Denys Berynchyk defeated Mexican Emanuel Navarrete (38-2-1, 31 KOs) and won the WBO championship belt.
Thus, all belts of the lightweight division found their owners.
Lightweight world champions:
WBA – Jervonta Davis (29-0, 27 KO)
WBC – Shakur Stevenson (21-0, 10 KO)
IBF – Vasyl Lomachenko (18-3, 12 KO)
WBO – Denys Berinchyk (19-0, 9 KO)
It should be noted that previously all the belts of the division belonged to Devin Haney, who gave them up during the transition to the first welterweight.
Shakur Stevenson won the WBC title in a fight against Edwin De Los Santos.
Jervonta Davis held the WBA junior title and was promoted to the recognized champions.
Vasyl Lomachenko defeated George Kambosos a week ago and won the IBF title.
