The EU Council has agreed to sign an open skies agreement with Ukraine

On June 28, the Council of the European Union agreed to sign a Common Aviation Area Agreement with Ukraine, as well as three other countries: Armenia, Tunisia and Qatar.

This was announced the day before in the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine with reference to the CTS.

It is noted that now the application of the agreement on Ukraine will be able to take place on a temporary basis, until the completion of all necessary procedures for its entry into force. It is expected that the signing of the open skies agreement may take place in autumn 2021.

According to Infrastructure Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov, Ukraine is now on the verge of signing an open skies agreement with the EU.

"This is a full-fledged entry of Ukraine into the single EU airspace, with the mandatory implementation of European standards and rules in the field of air transport. Removing market restrictions is an increase in social, economic and tourism cooperation between the EU and Ukraine, ”Kubrakov added.

It will be recalled that we have previously reported that Ukraine's largest airport, Boryspil, has been profitable since May and continues to implement the Anti-Crisis Program.
