Baikonur cosmodrome in Ukraine

Ukraine is planning to build a cosmodrome, Space Logistics head Dmitry Legeza said in an interview with LIGA.net. 

    “The main task we have set for ourselves is to build a spaceport on the territory of Ukraine. For this purpose, during the first three to four months, we went to different organizations and factories to formally analyze the possibility of such construction, ”he said.

Tatiana Lyulka, Managing Partner at Space Logistics, reminded that the starting price of such a project starts at $ 50 million.

It should be noted that KB “Yuzhne” is developing a Cyclone-1M rocket launcher for the spaceport in Ukraine.

The head of Space Logistics noted that the company is now working on the general issue of the possibility of building a spaceport.

    “When I just started asking these questions to understanding people, I expected them to make me laugh. But they took everything seriously. It turned out that nobody studied the issue - there was simply no need, since Kazakhstan was with Baikonur, ”says Legeza.

Space Logistics also talked about finding the “best location” to build a spaceport. “Kherson region was chosen as the location”
