DHL Express considers Boryspil Airport as an alternative to Istanbul and Moscow
DHL Express considers Boryspil Airport as an alternative to its hubs in Moscow and Istanbul. To implement this idea, it is necessary to restore normal passenger flights, as well as to have a new cargo terminal at the airport.

Prior to the pandemic, Boryspil was an airport hub, so it would be ideal for us to combine its hub model with our network, as transit flights would cover all the areas we need - Almaty, Yerevan, Tbilisi, Baku. We would like Boryspil to become an alternative to our hubs in Istanbul and Moscow for these areas, - summed up the regional manager of DHL Express Vadym Sidoruk.
The idea of building a cargo terminal in Boryspil has been discussed for a long time. At one time, the airport sought DHL support for its construction. In December 2016, the company's CEO Pavlo Ryabikin said that the airport may well have a terminal, but first you need a specialized investor who will not only build the terminal, but also provide it with cargo.
In July 2020, the European Business Association reported that the construction of a new cargo terminal in Boryspil may start this fall. However, at the moment all infrastructure projects at the airport are suspended due to lack of financial plan for 2020 and quarantine.
