Kharkiv Aviation Plant will develop its own design bureau
Alexander Kryvokon, General Director of KhDAVP, at a meeting with the staff of Kharkiv University of KHAI presented his vision on the withdrawal of the Kharkiv Aircraft Plant from the crisis with reference to Krylya.
"According to Oleksandr Kryvokon, the situation is far from optimistic for many years. Despite this, he believes that the situation can be corrected within a few years, ”the university's press service reports.
To implement these plans, the company will need the active support of KHAI in strengthening the human resources of KhDAVP. First of all, Oleksandr Kryvokon was interested in graduates of the first faculty to replenish the staff of the enterprise's design bureau. This unit, according to the plan, will be the first to begin the revival of KhDAVP, dealing with bringing technical documentation in line with modern standards of electronic document management. In addition, the Director General of the CDAP shared his views on the near future.
The management believes that the company should focus on bringing to sale the An-74 and An-140 aircraft for Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, as well as to upgrade the fleet of An-140, located at various enterprises and organizations of Ukraine and require a range of works on bringing them to airworthiness standards.

From the presentation presented at the event, it became known that the KhDAVP plans to engage in An-74, not counting on SE "Antonov", with its own CB with the participation of KHAI.
It is reported that the project to resume production of An-74 should include:
In the field of import substitution:
Replacement of components manufactured by the Russian Federation
Replacement of decommissioned components
Re-equipment of the aircraft with the use of domestic components
Start of production of certain components at the plant
In the field of modernization:
Implementation of constructive developments
Development of operational capabilities
Improvement of aircraft systems
Use of innovative technologies
Other promising areas and topics of cooperation between KhDAVP and KHAI are called "Prospective small aircraft" and "unmanned civil aircraft". Earlier it was reported that Ukroboronprom approved a plan of anti-crisis measures for Kharkiv Airlines.
On January 15, 2021, the Ministry of Strategic Industries held a meeting on the rehabilitation of KhDAVP State Enterprise "Kharkiv State Aviation Production Enterprise". It was reported that it was decided to order eight An-74 aircraft.
The company has to complete some of the aircraft that are at the plant as unfinished.
