SBU urges citizens to be vigilant and warns

Russia is actively creating fake pages of Ukrainian state bodies

The Security Service of Ukraine has recorded a significant increase in the activity of Russian special services in creating websites and pages on social networks that imitate the official resources of state bodies of our state, as well as domestic media. 

With the help of these fake sources, the enemy is trying to conduct information and psychological special operations and disinformation campaigns in order to destabilize the socio-political situation within Ukraine and damage its positions in the international arena.

In addition, Russian special services use these resources to extract personal data of Ukrainians. It has been established that Russians often hack the accounts of users who subscribe to fake pages on social networks and channels in messengers in order to steal their personal data. Subsequently, they use the information obtained to conduct recruitment operations and collect confidential data.

 Of particular interest to racists is information about the combat and operational work of the Defense and Security Forces of Ukraine. 

Among other things, the Cybersecurity Department of the SBU identified and blocked more than 50 resources that copied the branding of the Security Service of Ukraine in their appearance and positioning. 

In this regard, the SBU once again calls on citizens to be vigilant, not to follow suspicious links and to use only official sources.
