Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko met with Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer during his visit to Kyiv.
"I met with Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer, who visited Kyiv today as a sign of solidarity and support for the struggle of the Ukrainian people for their state and freedom. During the conversation, I noted the need to increase economic pressure on Russia - more severe sanctions, termination of economic relations with the aggressor," Klitschko said.
He noted that he continues to call on Ukraine's international partners to introduce a complete embargo on Russian energy resources.
"In particular, the oil and energy embargo on Russian energy carriers. Because Russia invests the funds received in weapons, in the army, in the war. It invests in the destruction of Ukraine and peaceful Ukrainians. What other evidence does the civilized world need after the atrocities of the Russians in Bucha, Irpen, Borodianka Gostomele?! After the hell the orcs turned Mariupol into? After the destroyed cities and villages, the constant shelling of residential areas," he is convinced.
Klitschko noted that the genocide should be stopped by the joint efforts of Ukraine and international partners.
"This is the genocide of the Ukrainian people, which Russia is cynically and ruthlessly perpetrating. And this must be stopped! By the joint position and efforts of partners, help to Ukraine - military, economic, political. Ukraine, in particular, counts on the support of partners for its EU membership," - summed up the mayor of Kyiv.
