French actor Jean Reno has released a book about Ukrainian children abducted during the war.

In the spy thriller “Escape,” the main character, who works for the French foreign intelligence service, goes on a mission. Her goal is to find deported Ukrainian children and document the crimes of the Russians.

Reno decided to write a novel about it when he learned about more than 19,000 Ukrainian children abducted by Russia from temporarily occupied territories.

“I was extremely shocked. It seemed crazy to me that these children were being abducted to brainwash them. I’m not into politics — I wanted to turn it into a novel,” he explained.
