Ukraine won the medal standings of the European Wrestling Championship for the first time in history

The Ukrainian national team has completed its performances at the 2026 European Wrestling Championships, which were held in Tirana. According to the results of the competition, the Ukrainian team won 11 awards: six gold, one silver and four bronze medals.
At the continental championship, which lasted from April 20 to 26, Ukraine was represented by a maximum of 30 athletes. In each of the three types of wrestling — men's and women's freestyle, as well as Greco-Roman — 10 representatives competed (one in each weight category).

Last year's European Championship, Ukraine's national team finished with four gold and five bronze medals, taking second place in the standings. This time, the "blue and yellow" became the best team of the tournament with 11 medals, six of which were gold.

According to the results of Euro 2026, Ukraine also won the tournament's medal standings for the first time. The "blue and yellow" have not yet risen above second place.

"Gold": Oksana Livach (freestyle wrestling, women, 50 kg), Maria Efremova (freestyle wrestling, women, 53 kg), Maria Vynnyk (freestyle wrestling, women, 59 kg), Iryna Kolyadenko (freestyle wrestling, women, 65 kg), Nadiya Sokolovska (freestyle wrestling, women, 72 kg), Anastasia Alpeeva (freestyle wrestling, women, 76 kg).
"Silver" : Liliya Malanchuk (freestyle wrestling, women, 55 kg).
"Bronze" : Yaroslav Filchakov (Greco-Roman wrestling, men, 87 kg), Vladlen Kozlyuk (Greco-Roman wrestling, men, 97 kg), Mykhailo Vyshnivetskyi (Greco-Roman wrestling, men, 130 kg), Solomiya Vynnyk (freestyle wrestling, women, 57 kg).
In total, Ukraine won eleven medals at the European Championship and took first place in the medal standings. This is Ukraine's best result in 12 years - then the "blue and yellow" won 11 medals (two "gold").
