Israeli Friends of Ukraine are holding a peaceful protest near the office of Dizengoff Trading Company

You know that ships with grain are arriving and arriving in Haifa… Recently, it became known about a company that officially purchases grain from the Russian Federation. And the problem is not only in the fact of the purchase itself. There are serious reasons to believe that part of this raw material may come from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. Documents indicate transshipment through the ports of Sevastopol and Berdyansk.

This means that ships with grain exported from the Ukrainian occupied territories are entering the Israeli port of Haifa without hindrance. Behind these deliveries is not just business, but war, occupation and the pain of Ukrainians.

We cannot pretend that we do not see this! 

That is why Israeli Friends of Ukraine are holding a peaceful protest near the office of Dizengoff Trading Company (1952) Ltd — a company that, one way or another, must answer the question of the origin of the raw materials it purchases from the Russian Federation. We want them to talk about it.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky:

 "Acquiring stolen goods in all normal countries is an act that entails legal responsibility. This applies, in particular, to grain stolen by Russia. Another ship with such grain has arrived in the port of Israel and is preparing for unloading. This is not and cannot be a pure business. The Israeli authorities cannot fail to know what ships and with what cargo arrive at the country's ports.

 Russia systematically seizes grain on temporarily occupied Ukrainian land and organizes the export of such grain by persons associated with the occupiers. Such transactions violate the legislation of the state of Israel itself. Ukraine has taken all necessary steps through diplomatic channels to exclude similar incidents. However, we see that another such vessel has not been stopped. He instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine to inform all partners of our state about the situation.

 Based on information from our intelligence services, Ukraine is preparing an appropriate sanctions package that will cover both those who directly transport this grain and individuals and legal entities trying to make money from this criminal scheme. We will also coordinate actions with European partners so that the relevant persons are included in the European sanctions regimes.

 Ukraine counts on partnership relations and mutual respect with every state. We are really working to ensure that the level of security, including in the Middle East region, is higher. We expect that the Israeli authorities will respect Ukraine and not take steps that weaken bilateral relations."
