Over the last 30 years, 12 new aircraft engines have been created in Ukraine
Despite the long-term lack of state funding since Ukraine's independence, Ukrainian airlines have made significant strides in the domestic and foreign markets with reference to Defense Express.
Thus, according to the head of JSC "Motor Sich" Vyacheslav Boguslaev, for over 30 years of work, domestic companies have developed 12 aircraft engines and their modifications.
"We have created 12 new engines in just 30 years of Independence," said the head of Motor Sich.
Vyacheslav Boguslaev noted that the state enterprise Ivchenko-Progress took an important part in this complex work.

"A number of engines have been designed by Progress Design Bureau without any state support," he said.
It will be recalled that the Ministry of Strategic Industries of Ukraine recently published a draft "State Targeted Scientific and Technical Program for the Development of the Aviation Industry for 2021-2030" which provides for the production of aircraft engines (for aircraft and helicopters) in the amount of UAH 8,709.7 billion. .

Among the most ambitious programs, it is proposed to finance the creation of small turbojet engines, a hybrid (turboelectric) power plant with reduced emissions, a new family of turbocharged engines with a takeoff power of 1400-1780 hp. and their turboprop modifications, as well as a turbocharged engine with a take-off power of 2800 hp.

In addition, it should be added that currently Ivchenko-Progress together with Motor Sich JSC carry out certification and production of new D-436-148FM engines for An-178 transport aircraft.
