A new state airline will appear in Ukraine this year

 

 Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Kyrylo Tymoshenko said that the work on the creation of a state air carrier will be completed in 2021.

Tymoshenko stated this on February 22 during the All-Ukrainian Forum "Ukraine 30"

    “We have an ambitious goal of creating a state-owned air carrier. We hope that we will be able to complete this this year, and Ukraine will get a clear state national air carrier that will be able to solve not only the issue of tourism, but also the issue of the state. Many of you remember what it was like in the spring when we picked up our citizens and worked with private airlines. All this will be decided by the national air carrier, "he said.

The Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine also stressed that the goals of the state to work in this direction are the abolition of VAT on domestic transportation, the formation of a team of top managers, the development of air routes and the formation of a fleet of leased aircraft.

We will remind, on April 22 last year the president of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky supported creation of the state airline.

    “We must create a state-owned modern airline. At the level of Turkish Airlines or Singapore Airlines. The state is ready to allocate money for this precisely so that we can create a national state air carrier. We will build a state-owned airline and place an order with our state-owned Antonov, the president said at the time.

In early June 2020, Prime Minister Denis Shmygal announced that the government had developed a concept for the future Ukrainian state-owned air carrier.

And in August last year, the Minister of Infrastructure Vladislav Krykliy stated that the state airline would attract aircraft manufactured by Antonov for regional transportation.
