Ukrainian auxiliary engines will be installed on An-72 and An-74 aircraft instead of Russian ones
On multi-purpose aircraft An-72/74 it is proposed to replace the auxiliary engines TA-12 and TA8V made in the Russian Federation with domestic AI-450-MS with reference to UMP.
The Kharkiv State Aviation Production Enterprise has already carried out modeling and prepared technical documentation.
The state-owned enterprise received a letter from the State Aviation Company Ukraine asking them to consider replacing the Russian power plant with a domestic one on the An-74TK-300 aircraft.
“We have already done this work, we have already done the layout, we already have all the technical documentation. Decisions need to be made, ”said Serhiy Zadorozhny, head of the state-owned enterprise, at a meeting of the subcommittee on defense industry and technical modernization.
State Aviation Enterprise "Ukraine" is a company that provides and performs air transportation by special flights of senior officials and official delegations of Ukraine and other countries in Ukraine and abroad.
In addition to the An-74TK-300 aircraft, the airline also includes Airbus A319 and An-148-100 aircraft.
The An-74TK-300 model first took off on April 20, 2001. President Yushchenko added a presidential VIP version of the plane to Ukraine's fleet in 2005.
The aircraft was manufactured at the Kharkiv State Aviation Production Enterprise.
The An-72/74 aircraft are also in the service of the National Guard of Ukraine, they are two An-72V / P aircraft and one An-74. They are also equipped with a Russian auxiliary gas turbine engine TA-12, and specifically on the An-72 - TA8V, which is mass-produced at the Ufa aggregate enterprise "Hydraulics" and NGO "Aerosila", respectively.
The AI-450 engine is designed for light helicopters and aircraft in the takeoff weight class of 1500-4000 kg, its upgraded version is installed on the Turkish unmanned aerial vehicle Akinci.
