Verkhovna Rada ratifies contract for the purchase of 20 French patrol boats
On March 4, the Verkhovna Rada ratified a framework agreement between the governments of Ukraine and France to formally support the enhancement of maritime safety and security of Ukraine.
261 deputies voted in favor of this decision. The contract was signed on November 19, 2019 in Paris.
According to him, the French side provides the borrower, ie Ukraine, with official support under the terms of the OECD Export Credit Agreement intended to finance the purchase of 20 maritime security boats and maritime security.
The boats are delivered unarmed, "contributing to the enhancement of maritime safety and security of Ukraine," the agreement said.
Under the terms of the OECD agreement, official support will be at most 85% of the total contract amount.
The amount of official support does not exceed EUR 116 029 250 and finances the acquisition of French goods, works and services in France for an amount not less than 50% of the total contract amount; and the acquisition of Ukrainian or foreign goods, works and services within 50% of the total contract amount.
At the same time, the French supplier is responsible for the execution of contracts with Ukrainian or foreign suppliers of goods, works and services, provided that the costs associated with the acquisition of Ukrainian goods, works and services do not exceed 30% of the total contract amount under the Agreement OECD.
