Lomachenko returned to Ukraine. Will the fight with Lopez be postponed?

The boss of Top Rank promotion company Bob Arum said that Vasily Lomachenko (14-1, 10 KOs) interrupted preparations for a unifying battle with Teofimo Lopez (15-0, 12 KOs) and returned to Ukraine.

Lomachenko and Lopez were supposed to fight on May 30 in New York. The Athletic insider Lance Pugmeier, after talking with Arum, concluded that the fight would be rescheduled.

“Arum says he prefers to wait until the crowds of fans are allowed to come together again,” said Pugmeier.

Earlier in the Top Rank, all boxing evenings in March and April were canceled due to the #coronavirus pandemic.
