Seaports of Ukraine increased cargo handling by almost 20%




During January-September 2019, Ukrainian seaports increased their turnover by 19.4% year-on-year to 114.521 million tonnes.

The transshipment of export cargoes during this time increased by 23.5% - to 86.269 million tons, import - by 13.3%, to 18.645 million tons, transit - by 2.4%, to 8.18 million tons. Processing of cabotage cargoes decreased by 12.2% to 1.424 million tons.

Bulk cargo processing increased by 7.7% - up to 8.089 million tons. Bulk cargo transfer increased by 25.2% - up to 82.585 million tons. Processing of piece cargo increased by 6.2% - up to 21.393 million tons.

Container turnover increased by 20.7% to 713 440 TEU. The number of overloaded heavy goods vehicles decreased by 4.4% to 41 855. The transshipment of other piece cargo increased by 15.1% to 792.81 thousand tons.

The leaders in volume of cargo handling were the port "Southern" - 38.658 million tons, the Nikolaev port - 23.883 million tons, the Black Sea port - 18.809 million tons, the Odessa port - 18.152 million tons.
