Mykolaiv Shipyard "Ocean" has signed a contract to build ships for the Dutch company
The Nikolaev shipbuilding plant "Ocean" has signed the contract with the Dutch shipping company Eurobulk for construction of two non-self-propelled vessels 79 meters in length.
This was stated in an interview with Shipbuilding and Repair magazine, CEO of the company Victor Trubach.
It is reported by the National Industrial Portal with reference to Ukraine News.
“These are practically complete ships - the customer will install only some electrical systems independently. Bookmarking of ships is scheduled for November and should be completed by March 2020. They will be delivered to the Netherlands via the Danube-Main-Rhine route. Eurobulk orders are scheduled to be delivered in Rotterdam in April, ”he said.
Another contract foresees the modernization of the river-sea dry cargo according to the documentation developed by the Odessa Maritime Engineering Bureau. The plant will produce a hold section with a hatch closure over 20 meters long. 140 days are reserved for the order.
“1200 tonnes of Ukrainian ship steel have already been ordered from Metinvest. About 300 tons of metal will go to modernization, the rest will go to barges, ”said Viktor Trubach.
Regarding the further program of activity of the enterprise, Victor Trubach said that at the moment negotiations are underway for the construction of several more non-self-propelled vessels for customers from Scandinavia, as well as a search for a customer for the completion of two dry cargo types "Bug", which are currently in the shipyards in unfinished condition.
The Ocean Plant was last launched in 2012. It was a non-self-propelled vessel of the POSS-115 project for Nibulon, after which the plant was declared bankrupt in 2013.
