Belarusian airline launches Ukrainian modification of An-2-100 aircraft
Grodno Airlines announces, in short, that its aircraft is participating in the MAX-2019 International Aerospace Show near Moscow. The aircraft is in branded colors of Motor Sich Airlines, but with the Belarusian registration mark EW-537CD and the inscription "Grodno Airlines".
In Belarus, the aircraft will carry out its tasks. Its main field of activity will be agriculture and small-scale transportation of goods within the country.
The main difference between the An-2-100 and the base piston version is the MS-14 turbo-screw engine manufactured by Motor Sich. The aircraft was built in 1977, and in 2008 it was decommissioned from the register of Ukraine. But in 2012-2013, it was converted to An-2-100, given a new serial number and registration mark of the UR-EXB of Motor Sich Airlines and the actual name of Henrik Ongirsky (in honor of the Deputy General Designer of Antonov Aircraft Plant). The aircraft is now considered to be the first of the new model, though the fuselage itself has been around for over 40 years.
Recall, a year ago, during the 15th International Specialized Exhibition "Weapons and Security-2018" JSC "Motor Sich" and the State Enterprise "Antonov" signed a license agreement for An-2-100 aircraft.
