Ukrzaliznytsia has started mass production of brake pads

 Ukrzaliznytsia has set up serial production of brake pads at the Dnipropetrovsk Diesel Locomotive Repair Plant.

This was announced on November 9 by a member of the board of JSC UZ Frantisek Bures. with reference to the CTS.

"Now we can completely cover the need for ultrasound brake pads, which is, for a second, up to 5 thousand units per month," - said Buresh.

He clarified that these are "emergency" type pads for electric locomotives.

We started this process six months ago, and I will not hide that it was difficult: approval of the draft terms of reference and technical conditions, creation and rolling out of the experimental batch, sending to an independent laboratory and, finally, approval of the Ukrzaliznytsia Interdepartmental Commission and certification. We went through all this, ”a member of the UZ board shared.

It should be noted that the first demonstration batch of pads was manufactured at the Dnipropetrovsk Diesel Locomotive Repair Plant this summer. As then stated by Acting Ivan Yuryk, Chairman of the Board of Ukrzaliznytsia, "the plant will be able to produce a minimum of 2,000 pads a month, a maximum of 4,000."
