The destroyer of the Indian Navy received a Ukrainian gas turbine

 Ukrainian state enterprise "Zorya" - "Mashproekt", which is part of SC "Ukroboronprom", carried out installation work of gas turbine units on the destroyer of India "Visakhapatnam".

The work reportedly involved two main gas turbine units and automatic control systems.

The work was carried out on the first ship in the 15B series of the Visakhapatnam project (D66) at the Indian company Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL).

"Despite the pandemic, the customer's task was completed as soon as possible," Ukroboronprom said in a statement.

It will be recalled that in 2019, Zorya-Mashproekt signed contracts with the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of India for the supply of gas turbine equipment.

Among the contracted products - gas turbine engines, gearboxes, spare parts kits for ships of the Indian Navy.

The contracts also provide training for Indian gas turbine operators and technical support.
