The Minister of Ecology criticized the purchase of 200 MAZ buses by Kyiv

The purchase of two hundred diesel buses by the Kyiv city authorities does not correspond to the realities of the 21st century.

This was stated by the Minister of Environment and Natural Resources Roman Abramovsky in an interview with Focus magazine. Transmitted by the National Industrial Portal with reference to Economic Truth.

The Minister called the decision of the Kyiv authorities to purchase two hundred Belarusian-made buses incomprehensible.

“I am very annoyed that Kyiv has bought diesel buses again, I think this is not the best solution for the 21st century. I understand that it is expensive to buy electric buses, it is also necessary to rebuild the system and make charging stations. But you have to start with something. In Zaporizhia and Zhytomyr, they are thinking about electric transport, and in Kyiv they are buying 200 diesels from Belarus, ”Abramovsky said.

According to the Minister, transport in Kyiv is a "big problem".

"The capital has a very inconvenient organization of transport, constant traffic jams, far from perfect public transport," he added.

It should be noted that Kyiv received 50 buses manufactured by the Belarusian MAZ plant under a financial leasing agreement. Another 150 cars will arrive by the end of the year

The total amount of the leasing agreement is 50.72 million euros or about 1.67 billion hryvnias. In September, Kyivpastrans transferred an advance payment of UAH 334.752 million to Ukrgasbank. The notes to the payment indicate that this amount is 20% of the total.

The cost of one short 12-meter bus will be 202 thousand euros, and 18.75-meter "accordion" - 288 thousand euros.
