Ukrzaliznytsia plans to overhaul 224 locomotives
In 2020, Ukrzaliznytsia intends to overhaul 224 locomotives. This was stated by the director of commercial work and logistics of "Ukrzaliznytsia" Irakli Ezugbay.

“To achieve this, we plan to invest heavily in the modernization and restoration of the existing park. There is an initiative to purchase 52 dual-system electric locomotives in the second half of 2021. Also, next year 224 locomotives are planned to be overhauled, ”said UZ, Director of Commercial Affairs and Logistics.
In addition, as noted by Ezugbay, UZ intends to increase the number and quality of car fleet to provide quality services and increase the share of daily traffic in the market from the current 19% to 35%.
“To achieve this, we plan to build and repair cars on our own production. In 2020-2021 it is planned to build more than 3,000, another 15,442 to carry out the so-called PKP (overhaul with extended service life). The total amount of investments is UAH 7 billion, ”he added.
