Kyiv International Airport IEV will increase the runway by 500 meters

 According to the tender, the reconstruction of the existing artificial runway with a length of 2310 m and an extension of 500 m should be provided at Kyiv International Airport.
with reference to "Wings".

The band should be increased taking into account the loads from the aircraft code letter "E" and modern construction technologies. According to the terms of reference, the construction works will be performed with the cessation of aircraft flights at the current airport. However, in the process of developing documentation should be provided for the phasing and sequence of work with the complete closure of the airport, and the possibility of starting operation of individual elements until the completion of work.

In the project of extension of a strip the executor should provide
lengthening of the taxiway with geometric parameters of the coatings in accordance with the requirements for the aircraft code letter "E"; equipment of a new tool landing system;
installation of a radar station for inspection of the airfield, installation of a Doppler meteorological radar, equipment of a new strip with lighting equipment for category II landing, as well as extension of the patrol road and fence.

The auction is scheduled to start on November 13, 2020, the expected cost of work on the development of documentation - 15 million hryvnias. It will be recalled that Denis Kostrzhevskyi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the airport, said that in order to be able to service aircraft in all weather conditions and to service larger aircraft at Kyiv Airport, it is necessary to upgrade the aerodrome category. A master plan for the reconstruction of Kyiv Airport, which has five different options, has already been developed.
