Tour de Ukraine: Cherepashinsky quarry, Vinnitsa and Fisherman’s House - we go to central Ukraine for 1 or 2 days

2020 was the year when the inhabitants of the country began to truly discover domestic tourism and understand that Ukraine is a large and interesting country, where there is something to see and where to go.

AIN.UA editorial staff traveled several routes where you can go for a day, a weekend, or even a whole week.

In this article we will talk about a sortie to Central Ukraine - Vinnitsa. We made up two route options: for one and two days - as it is more convenient for anyone. Our route is automobile, you can visit all points only by taking a car. But if there is a desire to visit only Vinnitsa, a comfortable Intercity travels from Kiev in three hours.

2 days itinerary

Our goal is to spend a busy weekend, swim, take great photos on Instagram and see something new. The final destination is Vinnitsa. All other stops are on the way. During the trip we made our route as follows:

Kiev - Korostyshevsky quarry / canyon - Cherepashinsky quarry - Vinnitsa - Fisherman's house - Kiev. The route is not roundabout; you have to return home on the same road that you are driving forward. There is an option to go back through Bila Tserkva, but the road to the BC itself is worse and the route is too busy.

Depart Kiev early, after 8 already start traffic jams - everyone goes from the capital. Note that the refueling of famous brands - on the outskirts of Kiev and already near Zhytomyr, then it is more difficult to do this, so pouring a full tank is in advance. With a Black card in June, I have 2% cashback for fuel and gas station purchases. Here I note that the entire journey took about 50 liters of gasoline - 1200 UAH.

In Korostyshev there are two interesting objects: a quarry and a canyon. The first is created by man, the second - by nature. And there are a lot of people around - in fact, this is the main place where city residents spend time. The quarry and canyon are nearby, you can take a walk and even swim, although we advise you to postpone this procedure for the Cherepashinsky quarry - there the water seemed cleaner and less people. An hour and a half for a walk - and leave.
Korostyshevsky quarry.

Our next point is the Cherepashinsky quarry. It is located in the Vinnitsa region, a three-hour drive from the first stop. Almost all the time the road is excellent, only before the quarry itself difficulties begin and not the most experienced drivers will look at the thin road in the forest without much joy. I advise you to go further into the forest, because there are more people near the arrival, especially at the weekend.

Cherepashinsky quarry

In summer, the water is warm, there is enough firewood nearby, next to the quarry there is even a small store where you can buy what you need and even have a snack with burgers or hot dogs. Going there for fishing is not worth it - we did not see fish there, so that someone would fish - too.

According to the plan, we spend the night near the Cherepashinsky quarry, in the morning climb, fees and further - to Vinnitsa. I must say that Google Maps shows a fraudulent exit from the quarry, which will easily increase the road by 20 minutes. Leave as you arrived. By Vinnitsa will get about 40 minutes drive.

The city itself is beautiful and well-groomed, Wi-Fi is even on trams. The center is large, you can easily spend half a day walking there. Of course, a fountain. He works day and night, evening shows are the main and most interesting, daytime shows are also beautiful, but not so spectacular. You can see the schedule on this site. Also some good places to visit,

The road back from Vinnitsa to Kiev passes through several interesting points. Frankly, they were only in one of them, because they spent a lot of time in Vinnitsa itself and did not have time to look around, when evening had already arrived. Nevertheless, we will tell about each.

On the way from Vinnitsa to Zhytomyr, Hitler’s famous headquarters is Verfolf (coordinates https://goo.gl/maps/V3cdzQY3vGnpUmZFA). This is the place from where Adolf Hitler led military operations on the eastern front. The stake itself was blown up during World War II, now there are only the remains of bunkers there.
The second point is the real Instagram spot. This is Fisherman's House (coordinates https://goo.gl/maps/m6KWso4u9jv6pn4d9). To be honest, there’s practically nothing to do there, since this is really a house for fishermen - just a keepsake photo next to the house and the bridge. I was there in summer and winter - always beautiful, but no more. The point itself is not far from the track along which the path goes, so the check will not take much time.

Two more places that are suitable for photographs and entertainment for children:

Victoria Film Studio is a studio, the entrance to which is made in the form of a castle. It looks very beautiful. Coordinates - https://goo.gl/maps/yfEFzVkJk62ubVKb8.
Yellow Plane - a large yellow plane and a cafe next to it. Coordinates - https://g.page/YellowPlane?share.

At the entrance to Kiev, get ready to stand in traffic. It seems impossible to avoid this.
The same route in one day

This route can be traveled in one day, excluding only one point - Cherepashinsky quarry. We deliberately went there, because we wanted to relax and swim. Overnight in the tent did not scare, in extreme cases - in the evening you can go to spend the night in Vinnitsa.

If the quarry is excluded, then it is quite possible to drive all the points in one day, albeit at a saturated pace. We compiled the entire route and put each point in it using this link - ). All points are in this order, since it is more convenient to call into them upon returning from Vinnitsa - you do not need to turn around on busy roads.
