An Expert Laboratory-Diagnostic Center for Infectious Diseases was established in Kharkiv

A new expert laboratory-diagnostic center for infectious diseases and sanitary protection is being created on the basis of Ecopolis HTZ.

The purchased equipment is state-of-the-art and will be used for the first time to target infectious diseases in Ukraine. The equipment manufacturer is a leading American company, ThermoFisher Scientific, a world leader in biotechnology.

The laboratory complex allows not only to determine whether a patient is ill, but also to obtain important data for the development of further treatment, taking into account the unique genetic characteristics of both the pathogen and the human. In addition, on the basis of the complex it is possible to carry out scientific researches for effective fight against all types of coronaviruses, as well as with pathogens of other infectious diseases.

The Virology Center is being established with the support of local businesses based on the Kharkiv Tractor Plant Medical Center, where the Ecopolis HTZ Technopark is currently being developed.
