Electric car sales in Ukraine have increased by a third

Sales of electric cars in Ukraine in January-March this year increased by a third compared to the same period of 2019 - up to 1.7 thousand units.

During this period, 409 vehicles received Ukrainian registration. Of these, 386 are passenger cars and 23 are commercial vehicles.

    Compared to last year, car electric vehicle registrations decreased by 16% and commercial ones by almost 40%. This decline in registrations in the electric car market is due to the fact that its lion's share is formed by old cars imported from abroad, whose registration was suspended in the middle of last month due to quarantine, - reads in the message " Ukravtoprom ”.

In the passenger segment, the share of used cars was 86%, and in the commercial segment - 100%. Despite all the restrictions created by the quarantine measures, registrations of new passenger electric cars in March compared to March 2019 increased by 36% - up to 53 units.

Nissan Leaf remains the leader in the electric car market - 129 cars in March. In second place Tesla Model S - 47 cars. The third most popular Tesla Model 3 - 32 cars. Fourth and fifth place went to Volkswagen e-Golf and Renault Kangoo ZE.
