Ukrzaliznytsia wants to create a container transportation operator

PJSC “Ukrzaliznytsya” is considering the option of allocating a separate operator, which will provide transportation of container cargo and rhythmic movement of container trains.

In the future, it is possible to create a single container transportation operator that will provide the whole range of services, including customs clearance, - said the head of the Directorate of Transport for the organization of interaction between the ports and port stations of the Odessa Railway Andriy Kim.

As of February, 41 container trains operated on the territory of Ukraine, of which 32 were on a regular basis. The busiest of them according to the results of 2019 was the train "Nika", which operates on the route Nikopol - Chernomorsk-Ferry, which carried 25430 TEU. In the second place in terms of transportation was the container train Nizhniprovsk-Pier - Black Sea (TIS), which carried 15537 TEU. The container train - Ternopil - Black Sea (TIS) - 14638 TEU was in third place.
