Ferrexpo allocates $ 2.5 million to health facilities to fight coronavirus

The Ukrainian company Ferrexpo, founded by Constantine Zhevago, has handed over to the medical institutions of Poltava region the first batch of equipment needed to overcome the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.

Ferrexpo founder Konstantin Zhevago has allocated $ 2.5 million to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic in the territory of Poltava and other regions of Ukraine. Assistance has already begun to reach the hospitals of the cities of Horishni Plavni, Kremenchuk and Poltava.

First and foremost, the proceeds will be spent on the purchase of artificial lung ventilation apparatus, test systems for the detection of COVID-19 and other equipment necessary to overcome the pandemic.

The aid is intended not only for the medical institutions of Poltava region, but also for the whole health care system of Ukraine.

    “They have taken their own initiative. With the help of this medical equipment, we will provide quality medical care to patients with coronavirus infection, ”Nataliya Sviridenko, Chief Poltava Regional Clinical Infectious Hospital, commented on the situation.

    “To date, I want to thank first and foremost the business. Especially to FERREXPO company is Konstantin Zhevago, who help our hospitals to be provided ”, - said Victor Dudnik, head of the health department of Gorishnoplavsk city council.

Ferrexpo has already received 5,500 FFP3 protective respirators, 300 protective overalls, 150 glasses, 4,700 inspection and 500 pairs of business gloves.

    “This help continues to come to us. I thank business, thank business and the whole of Ukraine, because only together will we be able to overcome this misfortune, ”Mr. Dudnik added.

Last week, the Ministry of Health called on businesses to provide assistance to combat coronavirus. Ferrexpo's Konstantin Zhevago, the largest producer and exporter of catwalks in the post-Soviet countries, was one of the first to respond.
