GOLD OF EUROPE AND A NEW UKRAINIAN RECORD!

Nikita Sheremet from Odessa is the European swimming champion! 🏊‍♂️✨

At the 2026 European Aquatics Championships in Paris, the 19-year-old student of the Odessa swimming school won a convincing victory in the 50-meter freestyle.

⚡️ 21.13 seconds - this is exactly the result that Nikita recorded in the final, setting a new Ukrainian record!

The path to gold was impressive: in the semifinals, the athlete repeated the previous national record of Vladislav Bukhov (21.38 s), and in the final he exceeded it!

This is Nikita's first gold medal at the adult European Championships.  There were successes ahead at the junior world and European championships, as well as the title of vice-champion of Europe in short water - and now the highest step of the podium has been conquered!

We sincerely congratulate Nikita and his coaching staff on this historic victory! Thank you for the flags of Ukraine, which fly in the most prestigious arenas of the world!
