Norwegian Kongsberg is working on a command center that will integrate various systems. The guidance system will be provided by German Diehl Defence, which produces a homing head for its own IRIS-T air defense complex. A Diehl spokesman confirmed that the company is in talks with Fire Point, but declined to discuss details.
Terek noted that the interceptor missile has already passed at least five tests. And the project itself will use an open architecture that will allow components to be replaced — for example, the Weibel radar with a Saab-made radar.
The number of industrial partners could increase to about 20, which would increase production capacity, Terek said. She added that Fire Point is also in talks with Ukrainian state-owned missile manufacturers, but declined to name them.
💬 We expect the launcher to have four to six missiles. So if a ballistic missile is intercepted with one salvo, that would be a great result, Terek said.
❗️ As for the FP-7 ballistic missile, it has already undergone about 15 test launches and is currently undergoing codification at the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine — according to Terek, this will take another two to four weeks.
Fire Point expects the first combat use of this version in early fall, and in late fall — of the much larger FP-9 ballistic missile.
