How much tax did IT companies and individual entrepreneurs pay in the first half of 2026

In the first half of 2026, IT specialists paid more than 30 billion hryvnias in taxes to the state budget. This is 6 billion more than in the same period in 2025. Traditionally, legal entities paid more than individual entrepreneurs.

Such data was provided to DOU by the State Tax Service of Ukraine.

By which KVEDs did we calculate

We chose the directions "Computer programming" and "Data processing, posting information on websites and related activities" as the most popular among IT entrepreneurs.

It should be noted that some IT professionals register their activities under other KVEDs, so the data presented only partially reflects tax activity in IT.

 How taxes were paid in 2026

In the first quarter of 2026, IT professionals paid over 15 billion hryvnias. Of these, legal entities paid 10 billion, and individual entrepreneurs - over 4 billion hryvnias in taxes.

In the second quarter, the dynamics were similar: legal entities paid 10 billion, and individual entrepreneurs - over 5 billion.

Traditionally, the largest number of taxes was received under the KVED "Computer Programming" - legal entities and individual entrepreneurs with this KVED together paid 10 billion hryvnias.

And what happened in 2025

In the first six months of 2025, the IT industry paid more than 24 billion hryvnias in taxes to the state budget. Of these, more than 16 billion were provided by legal entities, and more than 8 billion by individual entrepreneurs.  In both quarters, the structure of tax revenues remained almost unchanged.

Recall that we previously reported that in Ukraine in 2025-2026 the number of IT-FOPs decreased by a record 21%.  This is the largest decrease since our observations began in 2016. At the same time as the number of sole proprietors is decreasing, the share of gig contractors is increasing.
