Ukrainian polar explorers from Antarctica congratulated Ukrainians on Flag Day.

This February marked 30 years since the Ukrainian flag was raised over the former British Faraday station, and the station became the Academician Vernadsky.

“We thank our defenders for allowing us to conduct research under our native flag at the edge of the world for over 30 years. For all polar explorers, it is a great honor to raise the Ukrainian flag on the flagpole near Vernadsky and then take it home. To cherish it as a relic. To pass it on as an inheritance.”
