Yegor Yakushenko is the U20 World Champion

The Ukrainian wrestler won gold at the U20 Greco-Roman Wrestling World Championships in Bratislava. In the final of the 97 kg weight category, Yakushenko defeated Russian Ilya Komarov with a score of 4:1.

Yakushenko is the third wrestler in the 21st century among representatives of all three wrestling styles who managed to win three consecutive U20 World Championships!

For several years now, Yegor Yakushenko has been demonstrating total dominance in his weight category at the U20 and U23 levels. At the same time, his rivals have included quite serious names - one of them is Belarusian Abubakar Aslakhanov, a participant in the Paris Olympics and one of the strongest representatives of this weight class among adults.

Over the past three years, the Ukrainian has lost only one fight - in the final of last year's Euro U20 to German Darius Kefir. However, after that defeat, Yegor has already managed to take revenge on more than one.

Recently, Yegor announced that he will try his hand at the adult level, starting with this year's Ukrainian Championship. And victories at the junior level have already become commonplace for him.

 It is already clear that Yakushenko is the future face of Greco-Roman wrestling in Ukraine, and his potential is capable of surpassing even the legendary achievements of Jean Beleniuk in the future.
