Armed forces reduce several air squadrons, reconnaissance, tanks and artillery of the Assault Troops and Marines
The Minister of Defense confirmed the information about the reduction of the Armed Forces of Ukraine by several tens of thousands of people, but promised not to fire anyone - they will fill the vacancies, which are plentiful.

This was announced by Lieutenant General Zabrodsky, ex-commander of the Assault Troops, People’s Deputy of the ninth convocation, First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence.
“The next committee, at which most of the questions of my colleagues - people's deputies of Ukraine, remained unanswered. More precisely, the answer, as always, is in two versions: give me time, I will understand or you will make a deputy request, and I will instruct you to process it.
And yet about the most painful question: is it planned to reduce the number of the Armed Forces, what exactly and at whose expense? First: Mr. Minister confirmed that measures with the fashionable name "optimization", namely reduction - that's right, are planned. Secondly, the activities are planned and will be carried out carefully and carefully. And thirdly: given the great importance of the human factor, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine does not plan to reduce non-vacant positions. (Quote close to the text: "I will not cut live") ".
At the same time, according to the general, it is already planned to reduce the number of Land Forces by more than ten thousand people, the Air Force, Marines and DShV - by several thousand people. In total, about forty thousand positions. In particular, it is a question of reduction of several squadrons of tactical aviation, reconnaissance, artillery and tank divisions in DShV and Marines.
The ex-commander of the airborne assault troops stressed that the existing structures of combat units and subdivisions were introduced in response to the challenges of the time that faced the Armed Forces over the past six years. And it is extremely dangerous and irresponsible to treat existing structures as overburdened or engaged by the individual desires of the respective commanders.
The general also drew attention to the situation with the reduction of positions in the Armed Forces of Ukraine:
"Let's not forget the constant practice of organizing events in the Armed Forces over the past decades, when the wishes of senior military leadership are transformed into lower levels of military management with the prefix" provide proposals "with a clear statement of what proposals for reduction are in question."
Such a scheme of developing changes to organizational structures and proposals to reduce the number, on the one hand allows to implement the "will" decisions of the next reformers, and on the other hand completely removes any responsibility for the consequences of the next "improvements", as any documentary confirmation of these intentions remains only with the signatures of lower-level commanders and chiefs, "Mykhailo Zabrodsky wrote.

Note that in terms of organizational measures (including the so-called optimization) in a special period (lasting from March 2014, inclusive), the military command has the right to transfer troops to other units, including lower positions without their consent.
