Ukraine has gained NATO status with enhanced capabilities

Ukraine has received the status of a NATO Partner with Enhanced Opportunities, said the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba.

with reference to UMP.

On Friday, June 12, the North Atlantic Council recognized Ukraine as a partner with enhanced capabilities. The status is part of NATO's Partner Interoperability Initiative, which aims to support and deepen cooperation between Allies and Partners who make significant contributions to NATO-led operations and missions, the Alliance's press service said.

As a partner with enhanced capabilities, Ukraine will be able to take advantage of special opportunities. This includes expanded access to interoperability programs and training, and the exchange of more information, in particular on lessons learned.

Ukraine is now one of the six more empowered partners, along with Australia, Finland, Georgia, Jordan and Sweden. Each of the partners has an individually built relationship with NATO based on areas of mutual interest.
