Gvozdyk said that he decided to end his boxing career


Ukrainian Oleksandr Hvozdyk announced that he has decided to end his boxing career. He confirmed this information to Tribuna.com.

Gvozdyk is a bronze medalist of the 2012 Olympic Games. The 33-year-old Ukrainian played 18 matches in the professional ring.

In 2018, he knocked out Canadian Adonis Stevenson and became the world champion in the light heavyweight (up to 79.3 kilograms) according to the WBC. The Ukrainian fought his last fight on October 19, 2019, when he lost to Russian Artur Beterbiev by technical knockout in a fight for the WBC and IBF championship belts. This was the only defeat of the Ukrainian in his professional career.
