Ukrspetsexport has won a multimillion-dollar tender for the repair of IL-78 aircraft for Pakistan
Ukraine won the tender for the repair of the IL-78 refueling aircraft for Pakistan. The relevant contract was signed between the state company Ukrspetsexport and the Procurement Office of the Air Force of Pakistan.

Repair of the military plane will be carried out by "The Nikolaev aircraft repair plant". As a result of the first contract, Pakistan plans to conclude the next package of contracts for the overhaul of two more refueling aircraft. This information is confirmed by the Pakistan Air Force.
The total cost of repair and modernization of the Pakistani IL-78 will be more than $ 30 million.
According to the director of Ukrspetsexport Vadym Nozdri, the contract will allow to load the enterprise with work and will provide currency inflow to Ukraine.
It will be recalled that in July 2019, a delegation of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan headed by the Commander of the Air Force, Chief Marshal of Aviation Mujahideen Anwar Khan visited Ukraine. At this meeting, the parties discussed issues of intensifying military-technical cooperation between the two countries, as well as accelerating the implementation of contracts for the supply of IL-76.

IL-78 is a refueling aircraft based on the IL-76. During 2009-2012, Ukraine delivered four IL-78s to Pakistan under a contract signed in 2006.
