Skadovsk is working to restore the runway of the airfield
with reference to the CTS.
It is specified that on February 10 Kucheruk visited Skadovsk and held a meeting with the mayor to discuss the issue of restoring the runway at the airport.
"The relevant project will be interesting for the work of small aircraft, promotion of air sports or aviation leisure," - said in Skadovsk City Hall.
Also at the meeting, the mayor expressed the opinion that the development of air sports should attract even more tourists to the city on the Black Sea coast.
It should be noted that the revival of the airfield was discussed in 2016. Then the State Aviation Service assessed the suitability of the old runway for accepting aircraft.
In December 2019, the then head of the Kherson Regional State Administration Yuriy Gusev granted permission to the Kherson Airlines utility company of the Kherson Regional Council to develop a land management project for the permanent use of a 136.83-hectare plot of land on the territory of Skadovsk City Council. Skadovsk Airport is located in this area.
The runway is about 1,100 meters long, of which 350 meters are paved with concrete slabs, the rest is soil.
