 Zaporizhkran will produce 5 RTG hybrid cranes for the USA

 The American Southern Railway has ordered five hybrid RTG cranes manufactured by Konecranes, which includes the Ukrainian PJSC "Zaporizhkran".

 with reference to ShoTam.

It is noted that two cranes will be sent to the intermodal terminal Landers Yard in Chicago, and three - to the intermodal terminal Inman Yard in Atlanta. The cranes will be delivered to the customer in December 2021.

    "Thanks to their hybrid drives, RTG cranes will operate environmentally efficiently on intermodal rail tracks," the statement said.

Hybrid RTG Konecranes cranes have an electric drive powered by a battery and in addition by a diesel generator. Battery power is used normally. During peak consumption, the battery and diesel generator run in parallel. Braking energy is stored and used to recharge the battery.

All five hybrid RTG cranes will be equipped with an intelligent automatic control function that keeps the crane on a pre-programmed section of the road, making it easier for the operator to work.

It is known that such a contract is part of the concept of Ecolifting from Konecranes, aimed at minimizing the area occupied and improving the quality of equipment for container terminals.
