The National Security and Defense Council will decide on state procurement of An-74 and An-140 aircraft

 

 In the coming days, the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine will make a decision on the issue of the state order for An-74 and An-140 aircraft of various modifications produced by the KhDAVP.

Relevant information was provided by the General Director of the Kharkiv State Aviation Production Enterprise Serhiy Zadorozhny, the National Industrial Portal reports with reference to Defense Express.

    "In the first days of February there should be a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council, where our issue will be considered. The other day a commission from the Antonov State Enterprise worked at our enterprise, assessed the state of affairs and equipment, and checked the availability of personnel. The goal was to find weaknesses and suggest how they can be strengthened or bypassed, "he said.

According to Serhiy Zadorozhny, it is a question of completion of two An-140 transport and passenger planes and a significant number of An-74 multi-purpose planes.

    "We have nine An-74 fuselages and two ready-made An-140s. We are currently discussing the order of two An-140 aircraft with the prospect of up to four or five aircraft. These aircraft will be ordered in accordance with the President's program to establish a national airline. The An-74 must be ordered for the Ukrainian Navy, and the National Guard also wants to order three vehicles, ”said the General Director of the KhDAVP.

In his opinion, production, with the necessary order and financing of works by the state, can be resumed in a relatively short time.

    “As for the An-140, we will be able to do all the work in six or eight months. As for the An-74, we already have a production schedule, according to which we will be able to return the first car in 12-14 months. We add three or four months to each subsequent car, ”said the head of the airline.



The General Director of KhDAVP also said that the company is currently cooperating with the Antonov Design Bureau on import substitution issues, on whose specialists the final decision on the final appearance of the aircraft depends.

    Antonov is an aircraft developer, and our plant is engaged in serial production. And all changes on board the aircraft can be made only with the permission of the developer. We are negotiating with Antonov… and are ready to assist, as we also have our own design office. We have already worked out some of the issues, but we have to agree on all the changes with the developer, ”he said.

It will be recalled that in mid-January this year, under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine Oleh Urusky, a meeting was held to discuss the possibility of ordering four An-74MP patrol aircraft for the Navy and four transport An-74TK-200 for the Ministry of Defense.

It was noted that the meeting was decided on behalf of the President in January this year. to hold a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council on aviation by February 1, where the HAZ will be required to place this state defense order.
