Israel will show at the exhibition relics donated to the Jerusalem Patriarchate by Mazepa
KIEV. February 6. . In Israel, for the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's Independence, an exhibition of religious relics that were donated to the Patriarchy of the Jerusalem Orthodox Church at the end of the 17th century by Hetman Ivan Mazepa is being organized. This was reported by the Ukrainian Embassy in Israel following the meeting of the Ukrainian Ambassador to the country Yevgeny Korneichuk with the Jerusalem Patriarch Theophilos III, reports UNN.

It is reported that during the meeting on February 4, the interlocutors discussed the prospects for starting cooperation in the study of the history of relations between Ukraine and the Jerusalem Patriarchate.
Theophilus III and the Ukrainian Ambassador also exchanged views on the situation in world Orthodoxy and in Ukraine, in particular in the context of the development of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
Context
The Jerusalem Orthodox Church has not yet recognized the autocephalous OCU. According to experts, if the OCU is recognized, the Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilus III risks getting significant financial problems with the curtailment of pilgrimage flows, which is associated with the influence of the ROC in the region.
